WOOHOO!!! I know last I posted that I would not be attending Nationals but a very nice person
whom would like to remain silent came forward along with Kaylin's Grandparents and sponsored her to run the Nationals!
Thank you, you know who you are and thank you Grandpa & Grandma Humfleet, you made a little girl very happy! Now
dad is very stressed to get the kart ready, so much to do and my kart is not running right for some reason and we will not
be able to get a new motor but I know dad will do everything possible for me! It is a great opportunity and experience.
My mom says to give it 100% and no matter what happens or the outcome, not to get upset but to soak in the experience!
I'm sooooo nervous :)

I guess we should have stayed in bed today!!! Let me just say that since I have started
winning in this class, things have gotten very complicated! Some of the dads will do anything to get me out of the way!
I qualified pole today and one of the dads is a real jerk and was accusing my dad of running illegal fuel so that dad bought
a $500 fuel tester and tried to keep it a secret...we were the only ones in the class that did not know about it. My
dad was mad! My dad told them to get it over with and check it! They did and guess what...we passed...surprise,
hope he is happy spending that much $$$ to prove himself wrong! That is just the kind of stuff we have had to deal with
lately! During the heat, I started pole and checked out! I was very happy, I ran a very smooth race with no mistakes!
Well the feature was a different story! I started pole and the kid behind me has the dad that always causes problems
with us and is a VERY dirty driver! Going into turn one, he rammed the back corner of my kart causing
me to wreck and set me back into 4th place!!!GRRR! Everyone admitted it was wrong but nothing was done...they just say
"bumpins racin'! I'll have to remember that! And boy was my dad mad! Anyway, the boy in front of me kept
looking back and blocking (which is also illegal!) I finally got around him and finished in 2nd place! Well, it does'nt
end there! The dad that bought the fuel tester had wanted a big tech(don't know why when he finished 1st!) so
they tore the karts apart Well, we send our carbs off to someone that everyone in the class uses and when they took
our carb off they said it had the wrong bolt and DQ us! However, the dad that always compains was also DQ for illegal
parts! We are so upset! I don't know yet what that just did to my points but I have a feeling that I was knocked
down to second now...OH THE DRAMA!!! :( I am in the process of trying to get a few sponsors that way, I will be
able to really compete with these "boys"! Note from mom: It's very frustrating to watch Kaylin, knowing how hard
she tries and the progress she has made and you can't help but think, if shes that good, imagine what she could do with help!
I have a lot of faith in her and she is truly an inspiration to me!
August 4, 2007 Ocala Grand Prix
This was the race that was rescheduled from last week. Before I go into this, one thing...I LOVE
OCALA GRAND PRIX! This track is awesome! No rain today and it could'nt have been a more perfect day! We
practiced most of the day and qualifying did'nt start until around 5:30 I think. My kart was perfect today and seemed
to love the track as much as me! Since there were not a lot of juniors they combined the class to include Cadet 80's
and Rotax Mini Max, which are both faster classes than mine! I ended up qualifying second behind a Mini Max, which my
dad and mom said I should be very happy but I was dissapointed, then my dad looked at my kart and saw that I had qualifyied
on a flat front tire :) During the heat race I came in second again behind the same Mini Max...I just did'nt have the
power to get him although I was close...we lapped the 80's and that felt good! It's a good feeling to see the officials
throw a blue flag to the others because I'm coming through :) The feature started around 8:00pm and that was fun to
race while it's getting dark! This race was a close one! I stayed on the Mini Max's bumper most of the race, he
would gain a little then I would gain...I got caught behind the 80's while trying to lap them so the Mini Max gained some
but once I got around the 80's I caught him on the back straight(the 60's have great straight speed so that seemed to be where
I could gain) there was two laps to go and I tried to throw it in hard in a tight corner to pass him, I came to close and
we tangled slightly making me wobble and I just could'nt get the power to make a pass. I was upset becuase I could have
beat a kart that was faster than me if I could have hung on in that corner! He was really cool though and gave me a
thumbs up and we shook hands! I always respect the other drivers no matter what! My dad told me I shoud be extrelemy
proud of myself for even being able to compete like that with a faster kart and having the confidence to try a pass like that!
Even the Mini Max dad said he could tell that I must have been so determined and could tell I wanted that win so bad!
Oh well...off to Monticello next Saturday, August 11...and that will be a stressful race trying to keep my first place points
standings! Wish me luck. By the way, I wanted to thank Amber & Ashely Cox at Cox girls racing for their good
lucks! I will be watching your updates...remember...Girls Rule!
My next race is:
August 28, Ocala Grand Prix
September 1, Monticello
September 13, EasyKart Redbull Nationals, Monticello
Keep your fingers crossed (and your toes!)
